Three student body presidents. A Rhodes Scholar. Scores of honor graduates. What do they all have in common?
They're Terry Scholars.
During the 2000-2001 academic year, nearly 400 Terry Scholars attended The University of Texas at Austin and Texas A&M University. They were selected for scholarship support by the Terry Foundation because of their leadership skills and academic distinction in high school.
Established by Houston philanthropists Nancy and Howard Terry in the mid-1980s, their foundation is now the largest private source of scholarships for students at UT Austin and Texas A&M. Since 1987, the Terry Foundation has handpicked nearly 900 Terry Scholars from 160 Texas communities, awarding more than $11 million in scholarship funds.
